Edentrillick Quarry Extension

McCullagh Construction was appointed as Principal Contractor for the delivery of a major earthworks and environmental infrastructure package associated with the Edentrillick Quarry Extension in County Down.

The project involved the management and execution of substantial overburden removal operations to facilitate the quarry’s expansion and future extraction phases. Working within a live quarry environment, McCullagh Construction coordinated all site operations, plant resources and subcontractors to successfully deliver the works in accordance with planning, environmental and operational requirements.

Scope of Works:
- Major overburden excavation and relocation works.
- Construction of large environmental screening bunds.
- Formation of roadside screening embankments and landscape mitigation features.
- Bulk earthworks and material management throughout the extension area.
- Environmental improvement and restoration works.

Project Challenges:
